Enjoy 3 extra days and nights in Jerusalem with a relaxed schedule.
You may wish to stay for a few more days for an optional Jerusalem Extension. For a very modest additional cost, you can stay for three more nights at the Golden Walls Hotel. All of the Old City is easy walking distance from our hotel. During the days, either follow Vicars and David around as the explore some of the holy sites in the Old City and revisit some of the most important places – or strike out on your own to shop or explore. Jerusalem is filled with things to see and places to explore. In 2017 I spent two months in Jerusalem while on sabbatical -- and there remain a number of things that I didn't manage to fit in. You will be glad you stayed for the extra days if you can manage the time and cost. |
During the Jerusalem Extension all hotel costs, including Room, Hotel tips, Porterage, Breakfast and Supper ARE included. Also included is the transfer by motor-coach to Ben Gurion Airport on May 21. Note: We will NOT have a local guide, tour-bus, or driver during this extension. Lunch and site-admissions are not included. |
Some will want to shop the souks or explore the old or new city on their own. Some will want to visit the Western Wall Tunnels or the City of David Excavations. Others will want to accompany Archbishop David and Canon Vicars on their explorations. We will likely spend some time walking the Via Dolorosa (at a more prayerful pace), return to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and perhaps one or two of the lesser known Churches in the Old City -- (St. James and St. Marks). Sometimes it is possible to arrange to spend the night locked in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre overnight for prayer -- ask Vicars if you are interested in this. While there will be no touring or formal program, you are welcome to accompany Vicars and David on their excursions in the Old City. Or you can simply take these days at leisure.
May 21, 2024 HOMEWARD BOUND
With hearts and minds full of memories, deeper understanding of the Bible, and some new friends our entourage now travel home. After breakfast at the Golden Walls, we check out of our rooms and are transferred by bus to Ben Gurion International Airport for our return flight to Toronto.
